There are no leaves in this wood. The trees bear ropes, and the ropes turn slowly in a wind you cannot feel.
A white hound is caught in a wire snare. It has a reed tied to its collar. Every time it cries, something with antlers turns between the trunks.
Beneath an uprooted yew, steps descend into a burial mound. Whatever keeps the hound will let you take them.
